Tanzania Institute of Accountancy Library was established in 1st of July, 2002. The building which was designed to hold 20,000 volumes and seat 1,000 readers is a fine example of modern architecture. The Library’s vision is to have in place a conducive environment appropriate to providing an efficient, timely and user-tailored service.
Our Mission is to provide ready and efficient physical and bibliographic access to information consistent with the teaching and research interests of the TIA staff and the learning needs of TIA students. The Library supports all subject areas taught by the Institute for both undergraduate and post-graduate levels. In addition, the Library provides its members with a large number of services and resources.
TIA Library Goal
The main goal of TIA library is to support teaching, research and consultancy in the institution and its community.
To meet information, need of academic community by acquiring, processing, storing, preserving and disseminating relevant materials.
Educating and training library users on search, access and utilization of information.
Providing practical training facilities to library patrons.
Securing binding materials and requisite equipment.
Enhancing access to electronic resources.
Establishing an efficient and reliable Internet connectivity for effective information access and document delivery.
Staff skills upgrading through in-house training and retraining. As its major goal, Library department focuses its attention on the improvement of access to current information through acquisition and accessing up-to-date information resources through any type of media.
