Students from the Tanzania Institute of Accountancy (TIA) who won the Business Idea Competition, together with other students who contributed to cover the travel expenses, had an opportunity to participate in an educational tour to South Africa. The visit aimed to broaden their knowledge and expose them to leadership, innovation, and international opportunities.
During the tour, the students visited the Embassy of Tanzania in South Africa, where they learned about the role of the embassy in strengthening diplomatic relations, trade, and investment between Tanzania and South Africa. They were also encouraged to recognize the importance of innovation and entrepreneurial thinking in today’s world.
The students also visited important historical and national landmarks including Freedom Park and the Union Buildings, which symbolize the rich history and leadership of South Africa.
In addition, the group visited the University of the Witwatersrand, one of the leading universities in Africa. During their visit, they learned about modern academic systems, particularly the digitalization of library services, which enables students and researchers to access books, journals, and academic resources through digital platforms.
The tour provided valuable exposure and inspiration to the students, motivating them to continue developing innovative ideas, leadership skills, and entrepreneurial thinking for the future.
