In supporting and implementing the Institute Mission and vision statements, the Library Unit provides professionals in supporting academicians, administrative staff and students in day to day activities in learning, teaching and conducting research at the Institute. It is responsible for physical and digital materials to be up to date in providing information. The unit provides technical support to staff and students on timely availability and accessibility of needed information.

MAIN FUNCTIONS OF LIBRARY DEPARTMENT (LIBRARY WEBSITE)

The library accomplish the following activities

  • TIA has installed KOHA (Library Management Information System) that is globally accessible. The task of entering data (book information) in the computers have been accomplished at Dar-es-salaam Campus,
  • Currently library has been registered by COTUL and provides electronic resources such as EBSCOHOSTS, Emeralds insights and; Open Access databases available are Oxford Bibliographies, IMF library, Oxford Biography Resources and Z- Library for provision of electronic books,
  • Library will expect to establish new service known as Library Support Services (LSS) which will help Academic, Administrative Staff and Students on how to search e-books and journal, how to cite and referencing by using Mendeley Software,

LIBRARY OPENING HOURS

Monday – Friday 09:00 am to 09:00 pm

Saturday 09:00 am to 01:00 pm

Sundays and all Public Holidays, the Library will remain closed.
