In facilitating the smooth execution of the objectives of establishment of the Institute, the Procurement Management Unit (PMU) manages the procurement and disposal by tender activities of the Institute, supports the functioning of the Institute’s tender board, implements the decisions of the tender board, is the secretariat of the tender board, plans the procurement ans disposal by tender activities of the Institute, recommends procurement and disposal by tender procedures, checks and prepares statements of requirements, prepares tender documents, prepares advertisements of tender opportunities, prepare contracts documents, issue approved contract documents, maintains and archives records of the procurement and disposal process, maintains a list or register of all contracts awarded, prepares monthly reports for the tender board, prepares and submits to the management meeting quarterly reports on implementation of the annual procurement plan, co-ordinates the procurement and disposal activities of all the departments of the Institute; and prepares other reports as may be required from time to time. The PMU is led by the Head of PMU.
