The Tanzania Institute of Accountancy (TIA) was established as a Government Executive Agency by Government Order No 489 of 1/11/2003 under the Ministry of Finance in accordance with the Executive Agencies' Act No. 30 of 1997 on 1st July 2002. The establishment Act mandated it to provide education in Accountancy, Procurement and Supply, Research and Consultancy activities and other business related academic fields. It was accredited by HEAC, NACTE as an Institution of Higher Learning, registered by NBAA and NBMM to offer training or conduct programmes in the fields of accountancy and procurement and supply.The TIA's headquarters is located at the junction of Nelson Mandela and Kilwa roads in Dar es Salaam. The Institute has four campuses strategically located in Dar es Salaam, Mbeya, Singida and Mtwara.
